Plus, since the vast majority believed her to be a murderer there was never any “Chosen one” malarkey, they just got on with it. She did make a few quick, mildly foolish decisions in this but I think every YA lead can be granted a few of them. Just like in the first one she’s such an easy and believable lead and the journey she goes on in this book just makes me love her even more. It keeps you on the edge wanting to find out exactly what started the stories. The story remains intriguing throughout and we get introduced to a couple of fun new characters along the way, but you never fully understand the relationship and connection between Jules and Caro – or the Alchemist and Sorceress, until the very end when Jules finally understands. From there Sara Holland takes you on a journey through Jules as she discovers who she was twelve lifetimes ago.

Starting directly where Everless ending means you are thrown right back into the story with Jules trying to get away from Everless and Caro. One of my most anticipated reads since I read the first one in October 2017, it’s fair to say Evermore is a long time coming for me and it did not disappoint. Now Jules, framed for these murders, has a high bounty on her head, so she must leave Everless and search for the memories of her past lives to give her any chance of standing against Caro when the time comes. Not only are the stories she grew up on about the Sorceress and the Alchemist true, but she herself is the Alchemist and Caro – a woman Jules thought was her friend until she murdered the Queen and her first love Roan in cold blood, is the Sorceress.
